So it looks like tonight may have been my 100th unit of blood donated. (I’ve given a few different places as I moved around, so the count is in my head). If it wasn’t tonight, it’s very, very close.
This has long been sort of a personal goal. Many years ago someone a few degrees removed from me was in a very nasty car accident and needed 80 units of blood to survive, and something in my head clicked and said, “You know what? Challenge accepted!”
Not that I hadn’t given blood prior, but I became much more diligent about it afterwards.
Just a small personal victory today, but in these dark times…gonna take it.
