My brain has too many tabs open

Seriously. Now that I’m getting down to business, after years of NOT creating, there’s a wellspring of ideas and just not enough time to focus on them.

I haven’t played any video games for my own enjoyment since early March. At the time, I stopped to be able to cram for an IT certification I was taking, and then to focus on a plot I ran on Kaerwyn RP, and work for Anthrocon.

But both those are in the rearview mirror now and I’m still cranking stuff out, the problem right now seems to be focusing on a single project long enough.

I have a lot of OCs. Ten in the main roster, and several others that were abandoned over time. I would say they’re split between 6 ‘core’ settings, but some of them have multiple canons that I’ll be trying to narrow down more. But getting done with anything is just…hard.

I need to be able to drill down on a single topic, but that just isn’t coming lately. I’ll see if I can pick it up a bit more soon, especially with some upcoming time off. I think a lot of people want to know more about my characters and their stories; hell, so do I!

At least now I’ve got a better list of settings to work on.

  • Winds of Change: Based on the original furry/TF setting by Jon Buck, this is probably where I’ll be working least.
  • Wings and Prayers: a modified D&D Greyhawk setting based somewhat on 3rd edition, it follows the bird people the Thordani and Asari and their goddess, Faenya. Originally created for a PnP campaign by Aubri Gryphon.
  • Three Pantheons: Nathan’s home setting. I actually am rebuilding the entire setting and looking for a new name, but it’ll be some time. Once that’s done I’ll be rewriting the book. Original by Jay Enfield.
  • Sundered Shroud: a Masquerade style earth, where the barrier between the mundane and magical worlds has been split. Before, the Wildtouched and other paranormals had to hide their other nature; now they’re having to protect themselves.
  • META: A superheroish verse, where Lindsey comes from. Definitely needs more development.
  • Diamonds in the Rough: Joint project between myself and Lunarkeys, a cyberpunk setting with Lindsey, a metahuman shapeshifter, setting out to get vengeance.
  • Unnamed space setting: Formerly “Fur, Fury, Space”, I’m wiping most of the setting slate clean and keeping the character. We’ll see what happens.

Beyond this, I also want to help differentiate my characters from each other more; they’re getting more complex and need to be more distinct. That might be tomorrow’s topic.
