History: Not long after Lindsey was born, her father awakened as a second generation metahuman with electric powers. In the resulting chaos, her parents turned to the nascent Metahuman Evaluation and Tracking Administration for assistance in keeping Lindsey safe.  The price of this safety was dear; Lindsey’s father “died” that day as the Dynamo emerged, and she and her mother had their identities changed legally.  Further contact between them would be tightly controlled and screened.

Lindsey grew up the child of a single mother in this world, developing a love for animals and a streak of independence.  While she did meet with The Dynamo a few times, she did not learn the truth until after he had passed on, which led to her to questions and hoping one day she’d be able to join the ranks of metahumans.

Her chance came one night while she was working at an animal shelter as cleanup; during a storm she got a shock from a lightning strike and developed shapeshifting powers.  (To borrow a line from the late, great, Douglas Adams, “The precise details of the incident are unimportant, as nobody has ever managed to replicate them, though many people have ended up looking very silly, or dead, or more usually both, in the attempt.”)

Lindsey became Empowered as an Extrahuman-class metahuman, developing shapeshifting powers, she started to have more options open to her.  She eventually grew older and started college, with aid from a fund set aside from her father.  Aware of her being on the lower tier of the metahumans, and not sure she wanted to make fighting crime her full job, she decided to become a “superhero for animals“, moving to become an animal behavioralist.

She assists places like zoos, farms, and such with various ways to make animals more comfortable and less abused in bad situations; there’s a massive, obvious communication barrier with finding out how to enrich the lives of captive animals, and one of the things animal behaviorists study is to study those things, and figure out how to make the animals feel better being out of their natural surroundings.

Despite not wanting to fight primarily, Lindsey has maintained her idealism and free spirit; she doesn’t believe in no-win situations, and when faced with a choice between her morals and the law, the law is wrong.
